Aurora, Colorado Newborn Photographer | Your Session: What to Wear?

Newborn Photography Session: What to wear and what to dress the family in

Making memories and capturing all of life's tiny details

I love getting the opportunity to create timeless family photos for you to hang on your wall for generations to come. To ensure the images are something you and your family can treasure and stand up to the years of change follow the steps below

Providing family photos is one of my favorite things to deliver

Keeping clothing simple and easy is best. Simple colors and fabrics.

The Parents

Wearing similar colors and patterns will help the photo to look cohesive and convey a look of togetherness. I typically recommend wearing solid colors free of patterns. Avoiding items with patterns and spandex will help reduce moiré in your photos. I also suggest wearing items that are snug and not lose. When capturing parent photos I try to capture the connection, the snuggles, and the faces. Because I try to capture these close intimate moments, I will also add that the focus is on your face and connection and not focused on your clothing. Additionally, Ill often wrap mom in fabric in leu of a shirt to further capture the close connection.

The Siblings

Sibling photos are my absolute favorite to shoot. I love capturing this most special of memories. I typically have the new siblings take an aerial shot on a fluffy wool flokati as well as sitting photos. I love to see sisters in simply white dresses and during your session you will have access to the sibling client closet so that you can let your new sibling choose her dress of choice. For the new brothers I suggest to wear a simple shirt free of collars and buttons. Henleys

and simple t-shirts look great on camera.
