Aurora Newborn Photography | Baby Eliab’s Studio Session (Calm, Flexible & Real Life)

Sometimes newborn sessions don’t go exactly as planned—and that’s completely okay.

Baby Eliab’s session in my Aurora, Colorado studio was a perfect example of how we can still create a beautiful experience, even when real life shows up (because it always does).

A Session Filled with Real Life (and Flexibility)

This sweet family came in ready to capture their newest addition—but like so many families with little ones, life had other plans.

Both of baby Eliab’s older brothers just weren’t up for photos that day. One wasn’t feeling well, and the other simply wasn’t interested in participating—and that’s okay.

Instead of forcing the moment, we made the call to pause on family photos and revisit them later when everyone could fully enjoy the experience.

Because those images? They matter too much to rush.

Yes—You Can Come Back for Family Photos

One thing I always want my families to know:

If family photos don’t work out during your newborn session, we can absolutely reschedule that portion.

Family images are such an important part of your gallery, and they deserve:

  • Energy

  • Presence

  • A calm, connected moment

Not a rushed or stressful experience.

So when needed, I’ll bring you back in to complete that part of your session—no additional session fee, no stress.

Just the experience you were meant to have in the first place.

Baby Eliab Absolutely Crushed His Session

While the family portion didn’t come together that day, baby Eliab did exactly what every photographer hopes for.

He was calm, settled, and gave us so many beautiful moments to work with.

Within the session, we were able to capture a full gallery of images focused on:

  • Peaceful sleeping poses

  • Tiny details (hands, feet, expressions)

  • Clean, classic newborn portraits

These are the images that freeze time—and he gave us everything.

A Calm, Simple Newborn Session

The rest of Eliab’s session focused on what I do best:

  • Soft, neutral tones

  • Simple, timeless setups

  • A calm, baby-focused flow

No stress. No overcomplication. Just a space designed for both baby and parents to feel comfortable.

What This Session Really Shows

This session is a reminder that newborn photography isn’t about perfection.

It’s about:

  • Adjusting when needed

  • Supporting families in real time

  • Creating space for genuine moments

Because years from now, what matters most isn’t whether everything went perfectly.

It’s that you have the images.

Thinking About Your Own Newborn Session?

If you’re wondering how this all works—or what happens if things don’t go as planned—you’re not alone.

Key Takeaways

  • Newborn sessions don’t have to be perfect to be successful

  • Family photos can be rescheduled if needed

  • A calm, flexible approach creates better results

  • Your baby alone can create a full, beautiful gallery

  • The goal is always a stress-free, supported experience

Not every newborn session goes perfectly—and that’s completely normal. Whether siblings need a break or plans shift, a flexible approach allows us to still create a full, beautiful gallery. My goal is always to meet families where they are, making sure the experience feels calm, supported, and meaningful from start to finish.

Many parents worry about how older siblings will do during a newborn session—and the truth is, it’s completely normal for it not to go perfectly. That’s why I build flexibility into every session. Whether we capture everything in one day or bring you back for a quick follow-up, the goal is always the same: a calm, meaningful experience and a gallery you truly love.
