🎒 Tiny Scholars: The Ultimate Kindergarten Supply List for Aurora Parents (with Amazon Links!)

Newborn baby swaddled in black wrap, peacefully sleeping while wearing oversized black glasses, posed against a dark background with a small red felt apple placed beside them.

Kindergarten is right around the corner—and if you're anything like me, you're already wondering what exactly do I need to send with my kid?

Whether this is your first rodeo or you’ve done this a time or two, the emotions still hit the same. The tiny backpack. The hallway that suddenly feels way too big. The fact that you still remember the smell of their baby shampoo... and now they’re heading to school.

Let’s make it easier.

I’ve pulled together the official Frontier Aurora Public Schools kindergarten supply list, added real-mom tips, and created a full Amazon wishlist so you can click, add to cart, and go enjoy the last days of summer without overwhelm.

💛 Mom-to-Mom: The Real Talk You Actually Need

Spend the money on the backpack. It’ll be carrying more than you think—snacks, books, classroom birthday treats, art projects. Get a solid one that lasts.

Label the water bottle. Then do it again. Colorado kids drink a lot of water, and they’ll lose it before lunch if it’s not clearly marked.

Pick one lunchbox system and commit. Trust me. Whether it’s a bento box or a thermos, don’t end up with six different ones and a drawer full of unmatched lids.

Let them wear what they want. It’s the first day of their journey. If it’s the Paw Patrol tee or mismatched socks, let them own it with pride. That confidence will carry further than you know.

Get the photo. You’ll never regret taking it. Whether it’s a perfect chalkboard sign or a goofy grin in front of the garage door, freeze this moment.

📸 Want a First-Day Photo Without the Stress?

I’ll be honest — that “perfect first-day picture” often doesn’t happen when you're rushing out the door, wiping toothpaste off someone’s chin, and crying a little behind your sunglasses.

That’s why I offer back-to-school milestone photo sessions — quick, beautiful, and designed to capture who your child really is right now: growing, glowing, and ready to take on the world.

☕ And for My Fellow Crying Moms…

Here’s something I’ve been thinking about offering just for my elite clients this year:

A “Coffee & Cry It Out” morning.

The day you drop them off, come hang out with me.

We’ll look through baby photos, drink something warm, and remind ourselves that we did a really good job getting them here.

Because no one talks enough about how big this day is for us, too.

❤️ From One Kindergarten Mama to Another

Tiny Details — my business — turns five this year.

Which means if it were a kid, it would be heading into its own kindergarten year too.

I’ve been photographing babies for over eight years, but five years ago I signed the papers, got my LLC, and started this thing for real.

It’s grown so fast. And so have I.

Just like you. Just like your little one.

So here’s to the sharpened pencils, the labeled water bottles, and the brave walk down the hallway on day one.

I’m not crying, you’re crying.

With so much love (and maybe a box of crayons),

Jennifer
