Baby Sofia’s Session with Aurora Newborn Photographer: Bulgarian Heart, Pure Joy, and a Whole Lot of Love

Welcome little one

There are some sessions that just stay with you—and this one? This one is definitely one of those.

When Sofia’s parents first reached out, I was already excited. Not just because they were sweet and down-to-earth (which they totally are), but because mom is a wedding photographer herself. That kind of trust from another photographer? That’s huge. And humbling. And honestly made me want to bring my very best.

## A Studio Session with Meaning

From the moment they walked in, I knew this wasn’t going to be just any newborn session. They brought their own soft, peaceful vibe with them—greens, warm neutrals, soft blush tones—and some incredible Bulgarian elements they hoped to include.

They didn’t need neon props or fancy backdrops. What they wanted was heart. Meaning. Something that felt personal and real. And I was all in.

- **The Martenitsa heart** – A red and white string, hand-shaped into a heart, representing health, happiness, and tradition. I loved creating it just for Sofia.

- **A handmade Bulgarian doll** – Yep, I actually made this for her! It’s one of my favorite little projects to date, and seeing Mom and Dad’s reaction made my heart burst.

- **The little sheep** – This sweet family even brought their own stuffed animal from home, and it was the *perfect* little touch to wrap their story in softness and love.

These pieces didn’t just decorate the session—they told a story. One of culture, connection, and new beginnings.

## Meet Sofia: Tiny, Perfect, and So Loved

Let’s talk about Sofia. She was *such* a dreamy baby. Sleepy, snuggly, and happy to be swaddled just about any way I posed her. Whether we were wrapping her in soft creamy tones or styling her in earthy greens, she just melted into each setup like she’d done this before.

And her parents? Total naturals. You can see it in every photo—the way Dad held her with gentle pride, the way Mom looked at her like the whole world had just shifted into place.

Their session was calm, warm, and full of quiet joy. I can’t tell you how much I loved photographing this new family of three.

## Why This Session Meant So Much

Their session was calm, warm, and full of quiet joy. I can’t tell you how much I loved photographing this new family of three.

Every family I work with brings something unique into my studio—but sometimes, it feels like we’ve known each other forever. This was one of those times. Maybe it’s because Mom and I both speak the language of photography. Or maybe it’s because they met in a shared Uber (how cute is that?), and now here they are—building a life, dreaming of Ireland, and raising this beautiful baby girl together.

But mostly, I think it’s because they trusted me. They trusted me with one of the most important moments of their lives: their daughter’s first portraits. And that kind of trust? It means everything.
